Dear PM,

2G scam is the mother of all scams. Apparently Raja over ruled everyone who came in the way. PMO gave clear instruction to him to go for the auction and as expected he didn’t bother to listen to PM. Yesterday there is a new twist in the scam. It is revealed that Raja's predecessor Maran demanded to keep telecom pricing out of GoM and you conceded to that demand to save your PM's chair. It is now established beyond reasonable doubt that you are weak prime minister. People respect you but they don't listen to you. Your integrity is in question.

Supreme Court rapped you on the knuckle for your too long inaction. DoT refuted all charges in the CAG report.  Congress spokespersons are desperate to deflect the issue by dragging BJP which is as corrupt as any other political parties or challenging the amount of loss in the CAG report or hiding behind ‘the matter is subjudice’  / ‘Coalition Dharma’. Other day Manish Tewari repeatedly requested Arnab Goswami of Times Now to count the word ‘presumptuous’ in CAG report as if no scam has happened (It is a punishment to be a spokesperson of a political party nowadays. Because party will ask you to defend indefensible). Under extreme media pressure you finally forced Raja to resign.

The most painful part of the whole drama is your irritating silence. As a PM we expect you to lead the country from front like Sourav Ganguly. Instead you decided to withdraw yourself from the controversy and went into delegation mode. You are still an honest man. But what’s the point of being honest if you cannot take action against corrupt people as  pointed out by Suheel Seth. I don’t understand whose interest you are trying to protect by your silence? Is it congress or Gandhi family or both?

Let’s do some root cause analysis why we are hit by scam after scam.

• Our investigating agencies are crippled by political influence both at state and central level regardless of parties.
• Our top politicians are either corrupt or protect corrupt people to save their leadership. They are not able to set a good example to young politicians. Advani, Vajpayee, Sonia Gandhi, Jaylalita, Karunanidhi, Jyoti Basu, Prakash Karat, Manmohan Singh and many others all belong to either of these categories or both.
• Election reform is overdue. It is not very difficult to devise a reasonably effective system to block corrupt people from entering into parliament/assembly
• Judiciary system is extremely slow and corrupt people take full advantage of that.
• As politicians are corrupt so are police and civil servants.

It takes one honest and courageous prime minister to change the system. Unfortunately you are not the man we are looking for. Raja’s resignation does not mean anything. Huge amount of money has just vanished. Can you recover that money? Can you prosecute Raja and his associates no matter how powerful they are? Can you cancel the licenses of 2G spectrum and re-auction it?

Can you say 'Yes I can' eliminate corruption from our country? If not, I will urge you to resign from the post of prime minister, you still can be finance minister, if you want.

Selection of Pratibha Patil as our President

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

May I ask you one simple question? Is Mrs Pratibha Patil as honest as Dr. Manmohan Singh? Answer is obvious – big NO. There are no allegations against Mrs Patil. It is all documentary evidences of her heinous crime against thousands of poor women who are cheated by an innocent looking woman and now all set to take India’s highest constitutional office. Courtesy to Dr Manmohan Singh, India’s greatest ever Finance Minister. For your benefit Mr. Prime minister let me reiterate what those evidences are.

1. Pratibha Mahila Sahakari Bank gave loan to the tune of over 2 crore rupees to her relatives including her brother and that loan was never recovered. Interesting point is that management of bank on Jan 22, 2002
authorized Mrs Patil to appoint board of directors and the chief executive. Though she was not the chair person, but she was in full command.

2. Mrs Patil is accused of mismanagement and misappropriation of funds by Aurangabad high court. In 2003 for the same reason RBI cancelled the license of the bank.

3. Rs 41 lakh of interest has been waived to her family members. She could have stopped such waiver had her intention been completely honest.
4. As per RBI note her brother used bank’s phone to make call for his personal stock market transaction and ran a bill of Rs 20 lakh. Mrs Patil neither sacked her brother from management nor did she report the incident to the police.

5. In March 13, 2002 president, vice president and secretary of the bank alleged in a letter written to her that they fear a threat to their lives from her. Point to be noted that during that time Mrs Patil was not known in
national politics. So it cannot be treated as mudslinging.

6. Mrs Patil is on record to say in Maharashtra assembly in 1975 that people with hereditary diseases should be sterilised forcibly. Only a pervert can make such a statement. You are making pervert as our next president.

7. Mrs Patil founded a sugar mill which defaulted 12 crore rupees of bank loan. Though you and Mr. Pawar put the blame on bad monsoon, but fact of the matter is that this is not the first time she is caught in money laundering.

Last Sunday I was watching Mr AB Bardhan in Devil’s Advocate show. As expected Mr. Thapar ripped Mr. Bardhan apart. But he is as unfazed as you are in defending Mrs Patil. Other day I saw Mr. DasMunshi in NDTV. His defence for Mrs Patil is as ridiculous as it could be. So Mr. Prime Minister you may still pretend to know nothing, but it will not change tainted image of Mrs Patil among Indian youths.

I thought Mr. L. K. Advani was the most destructive politician in India. Now you are replacing Mr. Advani. You brought disrepute to the office of President. What was the urge for such a misadventure? It is a terrible
mistake on your part to nominate Mrs Pratibha Patil as President. But you are not ready to admit it. Do you know the difference between a brave and a coward? Cowards always make a mistake and never admit it. A brave rarely makes mistake and immediately accepts the mistake.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister you are as politically corrupt as Mr. Vajpayee. When Gujarat was burning, he became philosophical. He paid the penalty for his crime of not arresting Mr Modi for state sponsored terrorism. Unthinkable happened to Mr. Vajpayee’s political life – a humiliating defeat at the hands of Mrs Sonia Gandhi, last thing Mr Vajpayee wanted in his life.

The day Mrs. Patil will take oath as President of India whole world will laugh at us. Next day Indians will wake up with their head hanging in shame. Every time Mrs Patil will visit a country people will point their fingers and say ‘Here comes a woman who robed thousands of simple innocent poor women of their hard earned life time savings’ and who made her President? An oxford graduated economist who became India’s Prime Minister by sheer stroke of luck.

Dr. Manmohan Singh shame on you!

When you become old, if your grand children ask you ‘Grandpa why did you make a corrupt woman like Pratibha Patil as India’s president?’ what will you tell them? Did you ever thought the embarrassment your daughters have to face if Mrs Patil becomes President. If they ask you ‘Dad why you didn’t order CBI inquiry when there was so much compelling evidence against Mrs Patil?’ How will you react?

Dr. Singh you choose to shed your honour, your dignity, and your values to show your loyalty to your party. History will not forgive you. I may be one of the million people who voiced their anger against Mrs Patil’s nomination. It pains us when an educated man like you behaves such irrationally. I
appreciate your loyalty to Congress party. But should it be at the cost of
national interest?

When you go to sleep at night, do you still believe that Mrs Patil is an honest woman beyond reasonable doubt? You may fool us. But can you fool your conscience?

You still have time to reverse your decision. If you do it will not be your defeat, but the biggest victory of your life.

Germany offered black money data to India‏

It appears that govt of India is not interested. It might open Pandora box. We believe that most of the politicians cutting across the party have acquired huge amount of black money and deposited them to Swiss bank or LTG bank of Liechtenstein or few other countries where monetary transactions are not disclosed to investigating agencies of a country. German investigating agency has details of 800 such clients of LTG bank and they are ready to share the information with India if they receive an official request from the govt of India. Unfortunately Government is maintaining 'a stoic silence over the issue and has not approached the German government for this data'.

Ironically neither BJP nor CPM is pressurizing government to get this information from Germany.

Dr. Singh rise above politics and unmask all the corrupt politicians and businessmen. For God's sake try to get this information form German govt.

Conviction of Shibu Soren‏

Dear PM,

When a government employee is charge sheeted, he/she is immediately suspended till the case is over. Then how a charge sheeted person can contest an election, become an MP or a minister? Sir, we consider you as  ‘imandar admi’. For an honest person there is nothing called ‘political compulsion’. What if you remove tainted minister from your ministry? Congress working committee will ask you to step down as PM. Let it be. Why you should earn the tag of bad boy? Why you want to be tainted to protect these criminals. Recently CBI gave clean chit to Mayawati. CBI reports only to PM and without your tacit approval CBI will not dare to stop investigation. Now Supreme Court blasted CBI and directed the agency to prosecute her. Whose image got tarnished? It is yours not CBI’s. Can I ask you something? Would you accept anyone with similar  criminal record of Lalu Prasad Jadav as your so-in-law? Answer is obvious – No. Then why do you accept them as your minister?

Sir, fighting against criminals is not as difficult as it is being projected. Criminals are basically cowards. They pretend to be tiger if you give them an impression that you are scared. Today you exposed yourself to  blackmailing because you have something to loose – the prime minister’s chair. It is sad and disgraceful when honest man like you surrenders to people like Shibu Soren.

I don’t have anything more to say. It is your choice how you want to be remembered – as a strong man who determined to change India’s corrupt political system or as a weak man who succumbed to the pressure of his criminal colleagues.

Good Governance‏

Dear Mr. Advani,

In your website you mentioned that you will give good governance if voted to power. In the current political scenario in India it is impossible for BJP and Congress to provide good governance. Dr. Singh couldn't do it in 4.5 years though he promised the same. Let me explain you why.

1. In foreseeable future neither Congress nor BJP will get absolute majority. So you have to depend on small political parties led by dangerously corrupt people like Mayawati, Lalu Prasad Jadav, Amar Singh, Mulayam Singh, Shibu Soren, Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Nitish Kumar, Prakash Karat (CPM is looting West Bengal for 3 decades) and many others. They will not allow good governance.

2. You have corrupt people within your own party. Can you take any action against people like Pranab Mukherjee or Arun Sourie or Arjun Singh or Rajiv Pratap Rudy and may others?

3. There are estimated 8 to 16 million corrupt people in India. You cannot arrest all of them. Corruption is at every level of the society. Police is corrupt, politicians are corrupt, civil servants are corrupt, judiciary is corrupt, government employees are corrupt, businessmen are corrupt. So how will you provide good governance?

4. You have to please Hindus and Muslims. If you are PM, you will be soft on Bajrang Dal, you cannot touch RSS. If you try to confront with RSS, you will be thrown on the street like when you praised Jinnah. For Congress Arjun Singh will suspect genuineness of Batla house encounter. Dr. Singh will say Muslims have the first right of resource. Sad part is after 55 years of Congress rule, Muslims are in pathetic condition (Sachar report reveals it).

5. Congress and BJP will not let any opportunity to derive political mileage from every blast. See what BJP and Congress are doing with Malegaon blast?

6. In last 20 years we have witnessed scam after scam. Each scam is bigger than previous one and goes to the tune of multi billion dollar. We have seen Bofors scam, Tehelka scam, Harshad Mehta scam, Telecom scam, UTI scam, petrol pump scam, Fodder scam, Stamp scam, Taj Corridor scam, latest in the list is spectrum scam. I have picked up only few. Actual list is much bigger. There are thousands of smaller scams which range from few millions to few crores. So far majority of the scams are unresolved.

7. You will cripple CBI and ask them to sabotage cases against your friend. We do not know what is happening in fodder scam or taj corridor scam and other scams.

So, Mr. Advani you cannot be different from Dr. Singh. Having said all these, it is possible to fight against corruption and run clean government.

Rahul Gandhi spent Rs 20 lacs to fly from Coimbatore to Delhi !!!‏

Dear PM,

Can you believe Mr. Rahul Gandhi's 3 day trip to Chennai cost Youth Congress Rs 1 crore? He spent Rs 1.5 lacs per hour for a helicopter and 1.1 lacs per hour for aircraft. On top of it SPG followed him in an army helicopter. This is not all, Rahul returned to Delhi from Coimbatore by Falcoon 2000 aircraft for whooping fare of Rs 20 lacs just for one way. He is worse than Mayawati. Only last week he said 'As a politician you have a duty to be austere'. Is this austerity? Media completely exposed Rhaul's hypocrisy.

Reportedly he also used Indian Air Force strip in Thanjavur and Naval Air Station in Arakkonam, INS Rajali. To the best of my knowledge no one except PM, President and defence minister can use defence air base. Rahul should be prosecuted for trespassing.
And those who allowed Rahul to use these airbases should also be prosecuted.

Dr. Singh you as a prime minister of the country have a duty to save India from politicians like Rahul and many others. I know congress spokespersons Mr. Singhvi or Ms. Natarajan will aggressively and shamelessly try to defend Rahul. But fact remains that Rahul broke the law and showed obscene showmanship like Mayawati.

What an embarrassment for us. This country runs on corruption - politicians are corrupt, police is corrupt, Judiciary is corrupt. Do you have any strategy to fight corruption which is another form of terrorism? Actually corruption is worse than terrorism. You can deploy army to fight Naxals or LeT. But nobody has any clue how to fight corruption. Coalition politics has made the corruption even worse.

I think big bang approach for fighting corruption may not work. Let's start with cleaning up of police and panchayat level politicians first.

Divide police into two streams - one will look after day to day law and order issues and report to chief minister. Other stream will be fully autonomous body responsible for prosecution and investigation.

Politicians at Panchayat level and block development officers must be held responsible for misuse of funds or power or failure to implement any scheme. A completely independent body with quasi judicial power must audit them and if found guilty should be removed from the post immediately and cannot re-contest election for life.

Celebration of Rajiv's birth anniversary‏

Dear PM,

Different ministries of government of India celebrated Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary by displaying full page/half page ads in various newspapers all over India. Do these ministries celebrate birth anniversary of Morarji Desai or Lal Bahadur Shastri or Vajpayee? Short answer is ‘No’. So, why they are using tax payer’s money to publish ads in the newspaper to mark Rajiv’s birthday? It is immoral, illegal and cheating. This is worst kind of sycophancy. Let’s congress party spend money to glorify Gandhi family, not state or central government. Can you please explain how it is different from Mayawati’s garland made of currency note? Congress heavily criticized Mayawati then.

BJP did the same thing when they were in the power. It is so unfortunate that senior politicians like you or Advani allow such misuse of power to please your party and party leaders. It does not prick your conscience. In spite of criticism from media or from public you continue to do the same wrong thing again and again.

I think time has come to monitor the act of our MPs, MLAs and leaders of political parties by an independent body like election commission. The body must have enough power to suspend or terminate the concerned politicians from their posts if found guilty. The body may be comprised of hundreds of non political known faces at state and all India level.

Ashok Chavan and Suresh Kalmandi‏

Dear PM,

 

Resignation of Chavan and Kalmandi do not mean anything. They should be charge sheeted, arrested and prosecuted. The biggest problem of all political parties is that 90% of their MPs, MLAs and local leaders are either corrupt or criminal. When Chavan was made CM we are told that he is a very honest man, maintains low profile. In reality his dishonesty started when he was revenue minister or may be before that. The new CM you will choose from existing MLAs perhaps is already corrupt. You cannot keep on changing CMs.

 

If you ask any Indian to name an honest politician, only name that will come to everyone's mind is your name. No one will talk about Sharad Pawar or Pranab Mukherjee or Arun Shourie. It means that corruption has spread like infectious disease at every level of our political system. The result of annual CPI (corruption perception index) for 2010 is out and India's score is only 3.3, no improvement in last 4 years (3.4 in 2009, 3.4 in 2008 and 3.5 in 2007). You have to think out of box to change the system within the system. I have following suggestions 

1. Make non political person as CM. It could be retired sports person or CEO of a company. The name that comes to my mind immediately is that of Sunil Gavaskar.
2. All letters, memos, correspondences by CM, ministers and IAS officers should be put to internet within 48 hours. Whether anything to be classified as confidential is to be determined by some independent body.
3. Give quasi judicial power to CVC to suspend anybody involved in corruption till the person is cleared by court.
4. Give election commission the power to stop suspended person from contesting election.

RTI alone cannot stop corruption. RTI can expose corruption but it cannot prosecute corrupt people.

2G and other scams‏

Dear Jayanthi Natarajan, Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Singhvi, Arun Jeitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad

More you try to defend PM on 2G scam, more people of India will disbelieve his innocence. Yesterday nobody dared to use the word ‘guilty’ against him. Toady all channels are asking whether PM is guilty of omission. I heard Mr. Sibal’s interview with Borkha and Arnab. I must confess that all his replies went top of my head. Mr. Sibal was trying to hide behind misused phrase ‘Law will take its own course’. In India law takes its own course selectively because of corrupt politicians. 

As a citizen of India I am worried that even after 3 years, PM failed to recognize that a scam has happened in allocation of 2G spectrum. PM used all his tricks to bury the scam and re-appointed Raja as telecom minister in UPA II. He was almost successful. It is his misfortune that media again picked up the news after CAG report. Congress spokespersons left no stone unturned to confuse people about CAG report calling it 'presumptuous'.

Mr. Sibal called PM as a sensitive man. I strongly refute it. He is a selfish man whose only objective is to save PM's chair by allowing his coalition partners to loot the country. I know he is not getting any commission from the stolen money, but he does not have enough courage and character to stop the scam which any self respecting person could have stopped easily. He deliberately chose the scam to happen to save his government. Can you believe no action was taken against Raja for 3 years? Under intense media pressure congress persuaded DMK to ask Raja to resign. However we must congratulate PM for auctioning 3G spectrum.

Mr. Tewari and Ms Natarajan always speak about how congress took high moral ground by forcing Kalmandi, Chavan and Raja to resign. The definition of morality is so blurred now that it is limited to resignation only temporarily. Mr. Deshmukh also resigned after 26/11 and he is back to power within a year.

Damage is already done whether you accept it or not. Only way to salvage is to recover the money, prosecuting the guilty and creation of one more layer of check over and above cabinet/ministry. The layer should be created with people of impeccable integrity and achiever like Dr. Kalam or University professors or sportspersons or Mr. Tata. Collectively they will clear any policy of the government. They will be like jury.

Bihar election could be the game changer for Indian politics. This is the first time an uncharismatic non controversial person fought an election only on development issue and overshadowed charisma of Rahul Gandhi. Important lesson from Bihar election is that people are fade up with corrupt politicians and they are waiting to grab any honest man coming their way. Point to be noted in spite of alliance with BJP, large number of Muslims voted for Mr. Nitish Kumar and he had the courage to say no to Modi to campaign in Bihar. Loyalty has been shifted from a party or a leader to development and ability to bring decisive change to lives of millions. That is the only reason of Mr. Kumar's victory in Bihar.

BJP did irreparable damage to their image by not sacking Karnataka CM. They bowed to money power. Yeddy came, he slapped entire top brass of BJP, he blackmailed the party and left keeping his CM's chair intact. It is far better to have a mid-term poll than compromising with corruption. Unfortunately Mr. Chandan Mitra or Mr. Jaitley didn't realise that. They stuck to same bizarre rubbish arguments as congress spokespersons on Kalamandi or 2G to defend indefensible. If Anil Kumble and his team mates form a new political party, there is a high chance that they can form a government in next assembly election in Karnataka.

If BJP and Congress don't clean themselves, we will see sharp rise of regional powers and fractious coalition at the centre. This is dangerous for our country.

Ghost of Bofors‏

Dear PM,

Bofors ghost is back to haunt Congress and Gandhis again. There are no two views about bribe being given to middlemen. Question is who got the bribe - Quattrocchi or Win Chadda. Perhaps Rajiv Gandhi himself didn't take any bribe (not very sure). But he knew who took it and he used all his influence to sabotage the investigation to protect those persons. There are many similarities between You, Rajiv Gandhi and Narendra Modi. You protected Raja, Lalu, Shibu Soren and many others knowing fully well that they looted the country. Rajiv protected Quattrocchi, Win Chadda, Tytler, HKL Bhagat, Sajjan Kumar and Modi protected leaders of Bajrang dal. What a striking similarity between Anti Sikh riot of 1984 and Gujarat riot of 2002. Both happened with tacit approval of top politicians of the country. Rajiv didn't take any action against his congress colleagues who led mob to kill 3,000 innocent Sikhs in spite of strong prima facie and hundreds of eye witnesses. Even after 26 years nobody is prosecuted in anti Sikh riot. Same thing is happening in Gujarat. No justice even after 8 years.

Next couple of days we will see Abhishek Singhvi, Jayanti Natarajan, Manish Tewari will fight it out in TV with Arun Jeitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad and other BJP spokesperson. Sometimes I feel that the job of political spokesperson is most painful and shameful among all professions. One has to master the art of blatant lie, skill to deflect when the questions are too sharp and pointed and must have courage to kill one's conscience. But one thing I must admit that all these spokespersons are gifted orators and great debater.

CBI closed Bofors‏

Dear PM,

CBI may close the Bofors case, but Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi will remain prime suspect in this case forever. No congress spokesperson can change the perception of billion people that Rajib Gandhi overruled recommendation of Sunderji, the then army chief and Arun Nehru to threaten Bofors of cancelling the contract if they fail to disclose the names of people who took the bribe. But Rajiv Gandhi chose to protect his family friend Quattrochi whom they knew since 1974. Future generation of India will learn history not only by reading text book but also through internet and wikipedia. Here is the wiki link for Quattrochi that lists his every wrong doing. Interestingly he got 60 projects from Government of India between 1981 to 1987.

Nira Radia and Phone Tapping

Dear PM,

The latest addition to already long list of scams is phone tapping scam. Can government indiscriminately tap phone? Would UPA/NDA ever tap phone of Sonia or Rahul/Advani or Vajpayee? Let’s discuss the phone tapping more objectively.

1. Phone tapping is intrusion to privacy. There cannot be two views about it.
2. In an extraordinary situation phone tapping may be permissible. This raises many questions –

• What are those extra ordinary situations?
• Who will authorize phone tapping?
• Who will actually tap the phone – ministry or investigating agency?
• How the tapped information be protected from being leaked?
• Who will listen to the tapped conversation – ministry or investigating agency?
• What will happen to the tapped conversation if found to be irrelevant. Will it be destroyed?
• When order is given by a competent person to tap the phone would the identity of the person whose phone will be tapped be revealed to the person tapping or listening to the conversation?
• When will the tapped conversation be given to media – during investigation or after filing the charge sheet?
• Will there be any exclusion list i.e. president, vice president and PM?

Important thing is that government must have a clear policy and procedure for phone tapping. Extreme care should be taken to protect the identity of the tapped person. Ministry or investigating agency cannot take arbitrary decision to tap phone. Approval for tapping must come from PM or home ministry and there must be a strong reason to do so.

Tapped conversation should be fully encrypted and only assigned person can listen to the tapes. If the tapes are leaked assigned person should be held responsible. The person who will be listening the taped conversion should not hear the real voice to protect the identity. Voice must be masked. If anything objectionable is found, it should be notified to home ministry and conversation should be forwarded to the investigating officer. Identity of the tapped person should be revealed only if he is charge sheeted. Finally phone tapping should be limited to the following situations

• To prevent loss of life i.e. phone of a suspected terrorist, murderer, rapist can be tapped
• To protect sovereignty of the country

Tapping of phone to prevent corruption is simply unacceptable. Allegedly I-T department was investigating Nira for I-T violations. CBDT tapped 5000 calls and only 120 calls are selectively leaked. This is done deliberately with an evil intention.  This is not only intrusion to the privacy of Nira but also to the privacy of those Nira was talking to. Government cannot do it. It is as big scam as Watergate in US. Government should destroy all Nira Radia tapes.
